Natural 1 Carat Round Diamonds, Colourless (D-F)

The round brilliant is the benchmark every other shape is priced against, and D-F is the colourless band people mean when they say "a white diamond". This is what that combination costs today, natural only.

What to know before you buy

01

D, E and F are one visible category, priced as three

The colourless grades are separated by differences a grading lab can measure under controlled light against master stones. Face-up, mounted, in a room, they are the same. The price gap between them is real; the visible difference, for most buyers, is not. If the budget is tight, F is where the money goes furthest inside this band.

02

Cut outranks colour on a round

A round brilliant is the one shape whose light performance is fully standardised and graded, and cut grade drives how bright the stone looks far more than one colour grade does. A well-cut G will out-sparkle a poorly-cut D. Every listing below shows its cut grade where the grading report provides one.

03

Natural is a choice here, not a default

This page is deliberately restricted to natural stones. A lab-grown round of the same weight and grades is chemically the same material at a substantially lower price - see the lab-grown page linked below if that trade is open to you. We are not arguing for either; we are keeping the comparison honest by not blending them into one number.

Questions people ask about this search

How much is a natural 1 carat colourless round diamond?

The median listing price is $4,730 right now, across 7,663 matching diamonds in our tracked inventory. The middle half of the market sits between $3,450 and $6,470. The lowest currently listed is $1,060. Every figure here is recomputed from live listings each time the page loads, so it will not match a screenshot taken last week.

How many are available right now?

7,663 listings match this search in our tracked inventory as of 14 October 2026. Inventory changes continuously, so this number moves.

Is a D colour diamond worth the extra over an F?

For most buyers, no. D, E and F are all "colourless" and the differences between them are established by a grader comparing the stone against masterstones under controlled lighting. Once the diamond is mounted and seen in a room, that distinction is not something people pick out. The price difference, however, is real and measurable - which is why F is usually where the money goes furthest inside this band.

Should I buy natural or lab-grown at 1 carat?

That is a values question more than a technical one, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. A lab-grown round of the same weight and grades is the same material with the same optical properties, at a substantially lower price. What natural buys is rarity and provenance. We keep the two on separate pages, with separate prices, so you can see both honestly rather than being shown a blended average that describes neither.
